Heaven Hill steps up in the fight against Covid-19 with $400,000 and plans to make hand sanitizer in the U.S. and Canada

Heaven Hill Brands, the spirits producer based in Bardstown, Kentucky, announced today it’s entering the fight against the Covid-19 virus, offering both money and physical resources to help employees, their communities, and the hospitality industry.

The family-owned company is contributing $400,000 in cash to assist in employee communities and in the hospitality arena. Heaven Hill will also convert part of its operations in the U.S. and Canada to producing, bottling, and distributing hand sanitizer.

The second-largest boubon maker in the world, Heaven Hill makes Evan Williams, Elijah Craig, Larceny, and Henry McKenna bourbons, and a host of other spirits.

According to a news release, Heaven Hill will distribute donations across the following community partner funds:

  • Louisville, Ky. – One Louisville
  • Bardstown, Ky. – Tri-County United Way
  • Austin, Texas – Stand with Austin
  • Lethbridge, Canada – United Way of Lethbridge & South Western Alberta
  • Dublin, Ireland – Community Foundation of Ireland

Heaven Hill says the hand sanitizer it produces will “support healthcare facilities, first responders, and high-risk populations in cooperation with local and state government.” The news release states that production of hand sanitizer will shortly be underway at the following facilities:

  • Evan Williams Bourbon Experience in downtown Louisville, Ky.
  • Deep Eddy Vodka Tasting Room in Dripping Springs, Texas
  • Black Velvet Distillery in Lethbridge, Canada

On March 13, 2020, the company closed its Heaven Hill Bourbon Heritage Center in Bardstown, and the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience in downtown Louisville to public tours and retail sales. A reopening date has not been set.
