Bourbon Brotherhood and Whisky Chicks will team up to commemorate 100th anniversary of Prohibition on January 17 at Seelbach Hotel’s Rathskeller

Save the date: January 17, 2020, is the 100th anniversary of Prohibition, America’s “noble experiment” that made alcohol illegal and bootleggers and speakeasies a part of the national landscape. Two local groups, the Bourbon Brotherhood and the Whisky Chicks, are teaming up to host a party celebrating Prohibition’s anniversary at the Rathskeller in Louisville’s historic Seelbach Hotel. More information will be announced by the groups soon.

The Bourbon Society to meet January 20 at a new location: Frazier History Museum

The Bourbon Society will begin the new year in a new home on January 20 when it moves its monthly meetings to the Frazier History Museum on Whiskey Row in Louisville. Amir Peay, the owner/operator of the James E. Pepper Distillery in Lexington will be the speaker. Peay relaunched the iconic James E. Pepper “1776” bourbon brand and began distilling at the Lexington site in 2017 after a 58-year hiatus.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. The Bourbon Society is a membership organization, but non-members are welcome to attend this event. For registration information, go here.
