UK to host inaugural James B. Beam Institute conference for distilling professionals Feb. 27 in Lexington

The University of Kentucky will host the inaugural James B. Beam Institute for Kentucky Spirits industry conference for bourbon professionals on February 27 on campus in Lexington. The institute’s website says the event is for “farmers, representatives and staff from local and regional distilleries, secondary industries and tourism” professional seeking a full day of continuing education on bourbon-distilling best practices.

The institute is co-hosted by a variety of UK colleges and Beam-Suntory. It will include a wide range of bourbon industry speakers on topics including “oak, grains, fermentation, spent grains, warehousing, maturation, and logistics.”
